Jennifer Baersten

Jennifer joined the Board of Historic Tacoma in 2018. She is a preservation professional and was previously the Preservation Services Coordinator for the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, the statewide nonprofit group dedicated to historic preservation. She is the Director of Heritage Outreach for the Washington State Historical Society, and serves on the City of Tacoma Landmarks Preservation Commission.

At the Washington Trust, Jennifer worked on advocacy and outreach regarding best historic preservation practices in communities statewide and manages several programs including Washington's Most Endangered Places, the Youth Heritage Project, the Valerie Sivinski Fund, the Heritage Barn Grant Program, and This Place magazine.

Jennifer holds an MS in Architecture History and Theory (with a Certificate in Historic Preservation) from the University of Washington in Seattle.
