Involved with historic preservation both in Seattle and Vancouver, BC, Don Erickson has also served as staff to the Seattle International Special Review District and later Vancouver’s Chinatown Historic District. Don appreciates Tacoma’s rich architectural and historic past and is committed to helping preserve it for future generations. As an urbanist, he supports efforts to revitalize the city’s urban core to draw in new residents and businesses by improving its livability. He also strongly supports sustainability through the re-use of existing buildings. Don lives in the historic 1914 Ansonia building designed by Frederick Heath and occupies the penthouse once owned by Henry and Pearl Rhodes.
