David Bates

David Bates is a registered architect who has practiced in Washington State for more than three decades, with a career focused on building enclosure systems, investigating building defects, and designing repairs for structures that are not performing as intended.

Dave has long been active in preservation and building advocacy, volunteering with Historic Seattle and serving as the founding president of the Seattle Building Enclosure Council. Notable projects he has worked on include the rehabilitation of the former Queen Anne High School in Seattle, Washington Elementary in Tacoma, the Everett Public Library main branch, Pierce College in Steilacoom, and a fishing and hunting lodge in Alaska’s interior.
